THE SHORT VERSION
Information should have a reason.
We process information to provide accounts and conversations, operate platform features, maintain safety and security, respond to support, understand service performance, and meet legal obligations. We do not sell personal information.
WHAT WE COLLECT
Four groups, shown plainly.
What we receive depends on how you use Spichat, which permissions you grant, and which features are available in your region.
Account & profile
Identifiers and details you submit, such as email, username, display name, age-related information, avatar, and bio.
Content & communication
Profile content, messages, support requests, reports, and other information you choose to create or send.
Device & activity
Device type, operating system, IP-derived location, identifiers, logs, pages visited, features used, and service interactions.
Purchases
Transaction status and purchase records. Payment providers process payment credentials under their own policies.
We may also receive limited information from sign-in, analytics, hosting, support, and payment providers when those services are used.
WHY WE USE IT
From signal to service.
- CONNECT
Authenticate accounts, deliver messages, support video and text features, and provide requested functionality.
- PROTECT
Detect abuse, investigate reports, prevent fraud, enforce rules, and keep accounts and infrastructure secure.
- IMPROVE
Measure performance, troubleshoot errors, understand feature use, and develop a more reliable experience.
- COMMUNICATE
Send service notices, respond to support requests, and provide information about material policy changes.
RETENTION & SECURITY
Kept only while there is a purpose.
We retain information while your account is active and as reasonably necessary to provide the service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and enforce agreements. After deletion, some records may remain for a limited period where law, security, fraud prevention, or backup processes require it.
We use technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, so use a strong unique password and avoid sharing sensitive information in conversations.
YOUR CHOICES
Four ways to act on your data.
Access
Ask for information about the personal data associated with you.
Correct
Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal information.
Delete
Request deletion, subject to security, legal, and operational exceptions.
Portability
Where applicable, request a usable copy of eligible personal data.
Rights vary by location. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request and may decline or limit a request where applicable law allows.
